The Heritage Note

Sourced in the South of France, this antique white faïence ravier is a quiet celebration of classical French ceramic detail. Molded in an elongated shell form, its interior is sculpted with deep, radiating channels that fan outward toward a softly scalloped rim.

At the dish’s upper apex, a raised rococo scroll motif offers an elegant, subtle flourish. The pure, luminous white glaze rests smoothly over the earthenware body, punctuated on the reverse by three hand-impressed tally lines ("III") within the foot rim—a traditional workshop mark left by the artisan before firing.

Measuring 20.5 centimeters in length and 12 centimeters wide, this versatile piece is as functional as it is decorative. Perfect for presenting delicate aperitifs at a dinner table or taking pride of place in a gallery arrangement of antique white ceramics.
