Details: Patinated metal encased in thick hand-bound cord harnesses
The Heritage Note
Sourced in the South of France, these magnificent industrial cargo vessels bridge the gap between utilitarian maritime history and elevated modern art. Forged from heavy metal, each bulbous flask is completely encased in a hand-fitted lattice harness of dark, twisted rope, designed to cushion the vessel during transport and provide secure tie-down points on cart or deck.
The dark, oxidized metal bodies carry a deep, matte bronze-brown patina earned over decades of use, punctuated by sturdy top-loop handles and rolled lips. Standing 42 centimeters tall and measuring 36 centimeters across at their widest point, their presence is profoundly tactile and commanding.
Offered individually, these vessels serve as extraordinary architectural statement pieces. Whether standing solo on an entryway console, flanking a stone fireplace, or styled as a pair with dramatic dried botanicals, they bring a rich, grounded sense of historic purpose and organic texture to any interior.
